Project Description:
The recently completed Parking Lot 6 is getting an energy upgrade of solar shade structures. These structures consist of 1.3 megawatt photovoltaic panels, supported on parking canopies. They will interconnect with the local utility grid and integrate with the campus electrical system and campus Tesla Battery Farm. These solar shades will contribute approximately one-third of the current total capacity IVC needs to reach net-zero.
Design phase began the Fall of 2020 and construction February 2021. The project is slated to complete Fall of 2021.
At the completion of the shade structures project, a secondary project will follow-up with the installation of Electric Vehicle Charge Stations.
