The IVC Honors Program has two transfer agreement programs with UC Irvine.

  UC Irvine Admission Rates

General Freshmen Applicants: 40-53%
IVC Honors to Honors Applicants: 100%
IVC Transfer Honors Applicants: 60-70%

UCI's Honors to Honors program is a special transfer agreement available to students on track to complete the IVC Honors Program in good standing and with an overall transferable GPA of 3.7 or above. Eligible students will receive early admission to UCI, guaranteed admission to the UCI Campuswide Honors Collegium, and priority consideration for a special set of merit-based scholarships. Other benefits include guaranteed housing (if housing application submitted by UCI deadline) and individual advising.

Students on track to complete the IVC Honors Program requirements in good standing and who have an overall transferable GPA of 3.25 to 3.69 can be granted special consideration in the evaluation of their transfer application through UCI Transfer Honors. Other benefits include consideration for admission to UCI's Campuswide Honors Collegium, guaranteed housing (if housing application submitted by UCI deadline), and individual advising.

UC Irvine Honors to Honors

Benefits

  • Guaranteed admission to UC Irvine for all majors except nursing, music, art, and dance
  • Guaranteed admission to the UCI Campuswide Honors Collegium

  • Minimum 3.7 GPA in UC-transferable coursework
  • Minimum 3.25 GPA in Honors coursework

UC Irvine Transfer Honors

Benefits

  • Priority consideration for admission to UC Irvine for all majors except nursing, music, art, and dance
  • Facilitated admission to the UCI Campuswide Honors Collegium if GPA is 3.5 or higher
  • Guaranteed housing

Requirements

  • 3.25-3.69 GPA in UC-transferable coursework
  • Minimum 3.25 GPA in Honors coursework

How to Get Certified for UC Irvine's Honors to Honors and Transfer Honors Programs

  • Meet with an IVC Honors counselor to plan your courses - you will need to have a minimum of 60 units and satisfy all major prep
  • Complete English and math courses as early as possible, and make progress in major prep (complete as much major prep by the end of fall semester of application year, and go beyond the minimum required major prep, if possible)
  • Maintain at least a 3.25 in Honors coursework and at least a 3.7 in UC-transferable coursework (for Honors to Honors) or a 3.25-3.69 in UC-transferable coursework (for Transfer Honors)
  • By mid-September: Complete the IVC Honors Intent to Transfer form
  • By mid-September: Email unofficial transcripts showing courses completed at other colleges to honorsprogram@ivc.edu
  • October/November: Submit the UC application
    • Be sure to allow for your information to be released, so that your name will appear in our UC Irvine applicant database
    • You may indicate UCI Honors to Honors on the UC application, but it is not required; you will not be considered until we submit your certification
  • Fall semester: Meet with an Honors Counselor to receive advising and ensure that you're on track to complete requirements
  • By end of February: Meet with an Honors Counselor by the end of February to complete certification paperwork
