NOTE: Make sure to start at IVC.edu and click on Portal for Students, Faculty and Staff (upper right corner).

Canvas is used in many courses at IVC.  Your whole course may be managed through Canvas or your instructor may have provided additional course materials.  If you are taking an Online or Hybrid course, please take a look at Online Course Orientation.

For additional questions, please see the information below.

Starting with the Basics

  • Log in to the IVC Student Portal in IVC.edu.
  • Log in by going to IVC.edu and clicking Portal for Students, Faculty and Staff at the top right corner of the page. After the Student Portal opens, click on the Canvas tile.
  • You must be enrolled in a course for Canvas to open. The course must also be published by the teacher.
  • It may take up to 24 hours after registering for your first class for you to be able to login to Canvas
  • It can take up to the first day of class for you to be able to log in. This is dependent on at least one of your enrolled courses being published by your instructor.
  • Instructors may not publish courses until the first day of class.
  • Use Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge for Canvas. Make sure the browser is up to date.
NOTE: We recommend the Web browsers Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome for Canvas. Make sure your Web browsers are up to date.  Edge may not work with some Book Publisher sites you need to access via Canvas.
