About Chinese

The Chinese language (also called 汉语 Hanyu, 中文 Zhongwen, or 华语 Huawen) is a member of the Sino-Tibetan family of languages. About one-fifth of the world speaks some form of Chinese as its native language, making it the most spoken language in the world.

Welcome to the IVC Chinese Program

Chinese is the most spoken language in the world with over one billion people whose first language is Mandarin and whose civilization is one of the oldest in the world, with over three thousand years of history. At Irvine Valley College, while mastering the Chinese language, you will also learn about its rich culture, traditions, geography, civilization, literature and history.

Adapted Fitness Course Descriptions

KNEA 1: Adapted Personal Fitness

(offered in Fall, Spring and Summer terms)

Classes are held three days each week under the instruction of Ted Weatherford, 2005 Physical Educator of the Year (SCOPE). Ted has been a fulltime faculty member at IVC for more than two decades and has taught adapted fitness, kinesiology, health, dance and coached the IVC intercollegiate softball team.

How To Enroll in Adapted Kinesiology

(KNEA 1 course)

Enrollment in the KNEA 1 course is open to any student who may benefit from this course, and a disability is not a pre-requisite to enrollment.

Enrollment is managed online through IVC Admissions and Records.  Students must first complete the simple admissions process, but once onboard, students can use the online IVC Schedule of Classes to complete their enrollment in KNEA 1, the Adapted Kinesiology course.
