Chinese is the most spoken language in the world with over one billion people whose first language is Mandarin and whose civilization is one of the oldest in the world, with over three thousand years of history. At Irvine Valley College, while mastering the Chinese language, you will also learn about its rich culture, traditions, geography, civilization, literature and history.

Irvine Valley College has one of the most extensive inventories of specialized fitness equipment in Southern California.
Classes are held three days each week under the instruction of Ted Weatherford, 2005 Physical Educator of the Year (SCOPE). Ted has been a fulltime faculty member at IVC for more than two decades and has taught adapted fitness, kinesiology, health, dance and coached the IVC intercollegiate softball team.
Enrollment in the KNEA 1 course is open to any student who may benefit from this course, and a disability is not a pre-requisite to enrollment.
Enrollment is managed online through IVC Admissions and Records. Students must first complete the simple admissions process, but once onboard, students can use the online IVC Schedule of Classes to complete their enrollment in KNEA 1, the Adapted Kinesiology course.
Helping student achieve their individual fitness goals are the highest priority for the IVC Adapted Kinesiology Fitness Program. As part of the college's longstanding commitment to serve the entire community and embrace our tradition of rich diversity, Adapted Kinesiology is a key component in the programs of the School of Kinesiology, Health and Athletics and our colleagues in Disability Support Programs for Students (DSPS). Classes have been designed for those with temporary or chronic conditions who cannot attain their fitness goals in conventional ways.
