Latinx Heritage Month is a celebration and recognition of the many achievements and contributions of the Latinx community. The term "Latinx" is a gender-inclusive alternative to Latina and Latino that includes nonbinary and non-gender conforming folks in the community.

November is Native American Heritage Month, a time dedicated to celebrating Native Americans and their diverse cultures, histories, and traditions. America is a vast land of many cultures dating back thousands of years to the original inhabitants of the land.
Did you know that one out of every three IVC students is a first-generation college student? First-generation college students are the first to attend, or graduate from, college in their immediate families. Specifically, if your parents or guardians did not attend, or graduate from college, then you are a first gen student.
Filipino American History Month (FAHM) is a celebration and recognition during the month of October of the many achievements and contributions of the Filipino American community.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Awareness Month celebrates the breadth of people that make up our IVC campus community. This is an opportunity to learn about human experiences other than our own, connect in community with one another, and to reexamine the ways we need to grow and change to better support one another.

Your identities and experiences matter to us. You have unique ideas, contributions, and artistic creations that we would love to integrate into events at IVC. The President’s Advisory Council on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (PAC DEIA) and the Office of Student Equity are actively seeking IVC students, staff, faculty, and administrators that would like to contribute their ideas to the cultural and identity-affirming events we offer.
Join a community of students, faculty, and staff who self-identify as women, men, and persons of color. In every meeting, the experiences of people of color are intentionally centered, celebrated, and honored. We currently have two communities: Womxn of Color Collective (WoCC) and Fellowship Exchange of Lessons Learned & Academic Support (FELLAS).
