The Learn to Earn a Laptop program offers two laptop options:

  • Device must be checked out and in your possession during the entirety of the four consecutive semesters.
  • IVC Students is defined as having Irvine Valley College as the student's official college of record.
  • This offer is only valid for currently enrolled IVC students.
  • Only valid while supplies last.

Earn a Laptop*

Criteria includes:

  • IVC Student*
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0
  • Complete 4 consecutive semesters at IVC (fall and spring sessions, excluding summer session)
  • Earn a minimum of 24 units over 4 consecutive semesters

Currently, enrolled students are invited to sign up to receive a laptop/chromebook Loan today! Start with a laptop loan and learn your way to earning the option to keep your device forever.

Supplies are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

If you meet the criteria, you will be contacted by the college directly with instructions on the next steps once grades are posted after each semester. 

If you are not able to meet the criteria simply return the laptop at the end of the semester.

After completing four consecutive semesters, if you met the minimum criteria, we will notify you via email after grades are posted to invite you to keep the Chromebook, or you can return it on its due date.

If you pick a Windows 10 laptop:
After completing four consecutive semesters, if you via email after grades are posted to invite you to keep the laptop, or you can return it on its due date.

If you are experiencing technical difficulties with your current device or purchasing a laptop poses a financial hardship, checking out a laptop or Chromebook from the college will be beneficial to you. These devices come with preinstalled software applications that you will need for your academic success. Because they are issued by IVC, the college’s technical support team can assist you more effectively if you ever experience technical difficulties while using the device. Chromebooks will suffice for most coursework, check your course syllabus for information on if specific hardware is needed for the coursework.
