Irvine Valley College is open to offering college courses through an agreement with prospective K-12 partners, especially local partners in the area or partners that have been declined by their local college.
Partners can formally initiate a request to offer a college pathway or set of courses by following the following steps:
- Sending an email to the Director of Dual Enrollment, indicating your interest in a partnership and describing the background of your school. If you do not get an email response within 30 calendar days, please forward your inquiry to the College's Office of Instruction.
- The college's Director of Dual Enrollment will set up a meeting to explore the request with the K-12 partner. Academic leads may be invited to further explore pathways that are of interest to the K-12 partner.
- The college will strive to collaborate with prospective partners to assess the feasibility of the requested pathways/courses within a three-month time frame, keeping the prospective partner updated as needed.
- When an agreement is reached, the college will set up a formal agreement with the K-12 partner to be signed by both parties that outlines the parameters of the program.
- In the event that an agreement cannot be reached, the college will inform the prospective partner in writing (email) and provide reasons for the decision
