Fee Description and Information
Enrollment Fee
Fee: $46 per unit, required of all students, with the following exemptions:
- Concurrently enrolled high school students, 9th through 12th grade. Note other fees are not waived through this program.
- Students with the California College Promise Grant (CCPG; formerly BOG Fee Waiver). More information can be obtained through the Financial Aid Office.
- Students with the California Department of Veterans Affairs' Waiver. More information can be obtained through Student Payment Services.
Note: The enrollment fee is set by the State Legislature. The college will make every effort to inform students if and when the fee changes.
Nonresident Student Fee
These fees are assessed in addition to the fees applicable to students who are residents of the State of California.
Tuition Fee: Effective Fall 2024, the tuition fee will be $376 per unit. The law exempts certain nonresidents from paying the nonresident tuition fee. More information can be obtained through the Office of Admissions and Records.
Capital Outlay Fee: Effective Fall 2024, $70 per unit will be required of all nonresident students in addition to the "Tuition Fee" since tax revenues from the state are not applicable to nonresidents of California.
Instructional Material Fee
Fee: Will vary by class
This fee is required of all students enrolled in certain courses. Courses may carry a nominal fee for instructional materials provided to students throughout the semester.
Health Fee
Fee: $22 per college per semester for Summer Session, $26 per college per semester for Fall and Spring semester, effective Fall 2023.
Effective Spring 2019, all students who enroll in at least one class offered on Saddleback College, Irvine Valley College (including ATEP) campuses or online will be required to pay a separate health fee to each college in which they are enrolled (i.e. - $26 x 2 = $52), with the following exemptions:
- Students enrolled in dual enrollment courses offered as part of a Community College Access Program (CCAP) agreement, Emeritus online courses, or exclusively off-campus courses, will not be charged an automatic health fee (with the exception of online) but will be given the opportunity to "opt in" for access to health services.
- Students who depend exclusively upon prayer for healing in accordance with the teachings of a bonafide religious sect (Education Code section 76355).*
- Students who are attending the college under an approved apprenticeship training program. (Education Code section 76355).*
*Students must submit proof of exemptions at the time they register.

Parking permits can be purchased online through MySite.
*Annual Permits, available for purchase during the fall semester only, will be valid through August 31. IVC parking permits are also valid at Saddleback College and ATEP in the same type of parking space.

**Students who qualify for CCPG through Financial Aid will not be charged for parking at the time of purchase for the Academic Year of 2024-25. The purchase process must still be completed in MySite for a valid parking permit. Please contact Parking Services for parking permit refund information if you paid the full amount as a CCPG recipient. The fee has been subsidized by the COVID-19 recovery block grant.
ASIVC Access
Fee: $17 per semester
ASIVC Access is an opt-out fee which provides no-cost entry to campus athletic events; discounted Regal Cinema, AMC Theatre, and theme park tickets; an opportunity to apply for the Associated Students of Irvine Valley College (ASIVC) scholarship awards; and many more benefits. More information can be obtained through the ASIVC Office.
Student Representation Fee
Fee: $2 per semester (Optional)
The $2 Student Representation Fee is an optional fee collected at the time of registration for each enrolled student and established by CA Education Code: 76060.5.
- $1 will go to the Associated Student Government to fund advocacy efforts for student leaders and student representatives to state their positions and viewpoints on behalf of Irvine Valley College students before city, county, district, state, and federal government, as well as other public agencies.
- $1 will be expended to establish and support the operations of a statewide community college student organization, recognized by the Board of Governors of the California Community Colleges, with effective student representation and participation in state-level community college shared governance and with governmental affairs representatives to advocate before the Legislature and other state and local governmental entities. Currently, the Student Senate for California Community Colleges (SSCCC) serves in this capacity. SSCCC hosts a general assembly annually and is made up of ten regions with student representatives from all 115 community colleges in the State of California

Returned Check Fee
Fee: A $20 returned check fee is assessed for each check dishonored by the bank for whatever reason.
Note: Once a check is submitted by a student, it is considered to be his or her enrollment confirmation. Placing a stop payment on a check does not in any way cancel the student's financial obligation to the college, nor does it clear an enrollment record.
