In Fall 2020, I hosted a virtual 3-hour session on “Developing A DEI Framework at IVC” where I shared the importance of creating an equity framework that aligns every program, initiative and activity to college-wide diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) goals. In my short time at IVC, I’ve come to appreciate and value the many initiatives and activities that were organically created. Dr. John C. Hernandez was appointed 7th President of Irvine Valley College (IVC) in July 2020.

As IVC’s seventh president, it is my privilege to lead a college dedicated to expanding opportunity, fostering innovation, and empowering students to reach their full potential. For more than 40 years, IVC has provided pathways to higher education, career advancement, and lifelong learning.
