Sarah Smeltzer's journey at Irvine Valley College (IVC) is a testament to the power of determination and resilience. As a self-supporting, first-generation college student, Sarah's path to higher education was far from straightforward. Despite facing uncertainties and doubts in her senior year of high school, Sarah decided to give college one last shot, choosing IVC as her proving ground. 

IVC Student Kian Goshtasbi Pursing Computer Science Passion

Kian Goshtasbi is a dedicated student at Irvine Valley College (IVC) pursuing a major in computer science. His profound passion for the field of computer science was ignited during his childhood explorations in video game design. Despite facing initial setbacks and doubts about the field, Kian's resilience and determination led him back to computer science during his senior year of high school.

Summer Sanchez-Cornejo: Champion for Justice and Advocacy

With a focus on Political Science and a forthcoming minor in Labor Studies, Summer Sanchez-Cornejo's academic pursuits at Irvine Valley College (IVC) have focused on her desire to combat injustices prevalent in her community. 

Summer explains, “After seeing the way my loved ones and many in my community have been taken advantage of by employers, discriminated against by individuals, and persecuted by immigration and customs enforcement (I.C.E.), I want to work for change.” 

Irvine Valley College Student Successfully Juggles Work, College and Motherhood

Esmeralda Delgado has never been one to think small. 

“As long as I can remember,” she says, “my goal has been to be a CEO.” 

A high school graduate at 17, she started her career as a receptionist, working her way up the ranks in the supply chain industry. Now majoring in business management at Irvine Valley College (IVC) while juggling the demands of raising two children and a successful full-time career, Delgado is well poised to realize her dream. 

Temporary Relocation of Library Due to Renovations

We are excited to announce that the IVC library will be undergoing renovations to better serve you. During this period, the library will be temporarily relocated to Room A311. 

Please note the following important dates and information:

Library Closure for Move: The library will be closed from Tuesday, June 11 through Thursday, June 13 for the physical move.

Reopening in A311: The library will reopen in Room A311 on Monday, June 17.
