IVC 2020-2021 Classified Employee of the Year / CCCCO 2021 Classified Employee of the Year
Amy Hunter is the definition of a model Employee of the Year. With six years at Irvine Valley College (IVC), Amy is a senior administrative assistant within the School of Business Sciences. In the past two years she has taken on participatory governance leadership roles as IVC Classified Senate President, board member with the IVC Foundation, and IVC COVID-19 incident command team member. Amy exemplifies professionalism and high standards in all of her activities. She is highly regarded by all and she is known for her prompt responses and support of everyone’s needs.
Amy’s dedication as the Classified Senate President during the last two years embodies the IVC mission statement. Her work with Classified Senate provides the bridge to support our students, faculty, and administration. Amy goes above and beyond by recruiting and motivating IVC classified professionals’ participation in the shared governance process. In addition to her many roles as Classified Senate President, she has championed and led initiatives and professional development activities that include Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) training, virtual Classified Chats with college administration, Guided Pathways/Caring Campus, and much more.
Collaboration is key when working with Amy, and she inspires trust from everyone she encounters. She is highly professional and works across governance groups to learn about problems, all the while seeking solutions.
It was very clear from the many nominations received on Amy’s behalf that she is extremely professional when it comes to meetings, events, and email communication. Even while working from home, she has gone above and beyond in her duties as Classified Senate President. She is a leader in every sense of the word and is reliable. She loves her job, loves IVC, and will do anything to help solve a problem!
Additionally, Amy Hunter has been selected as a CCCCO 2021Classified Employee of the Year.
