Application Process

Schedule an appointment with a CalFresh Aide who can help you apply.

The County will call you for a phone interview. 

• Don’t miss this call! The County doesn’t have a specific number, so make sure you answer any blocked, anonymous, or unknown numbers.
• The interviewer will ask for any further details about your application.
• The County will assign a caseworker for you and you will get their information in the mail.

Submit any required documents to CDSS for verification.

These documents could be:

• Copy of your photo ID
• Pay stubs
• Rental or lease agreement
• Financial Aid award letter
• Your class schedule

Your assigned caseworker will review your application and verify your documents.

• They will notify you if you are approved for CalFresh benefits and how much you will receive. 
• After you are approved, you will receive your EBT card in the mail!

After six months, you are required to submit a SAR7 report to re-certify you for your benefits.

• If you do not submit this form, your benefits will end. 
• After 12 months and every year after you are approved, you will need to complete a SAR7 report.
