Check the Class Schedule – Important Dates for the last day to withdraw from most classes without a withdrawal notation ("W"). Students who withdraw from a class after the last day to add/drop and before the last day to withdraw will have a withdrawal notation for that class on their academic record. Short courses must be dropped before 20% of the course has been completed to be eligible for a drop without "W." For some very short courses, 20% of the course may be the first day of class.

Open classes may be added to your schedule prior to the start of the semester. During the first two weeks of the semester (first week during the summer session), you may add semester length classes with permission from the instructor. Registration times are assigned in priority order based on academic standing, completed degree-applicable units, completion of matriculation, and other factors.

1. To register for classes, go to MySite (Legacy or Banner).
2. Log in with your MySite (Legacy or Banner) username and password and select Registration from the Student menu.
3. Review your registration appointment time. Your registration appointment date is based upon units completed within the South Orange County Community College District (SOCCCD), your educational goal, transfer plan, and enrollment status.

If you wish to apply for a change of status, you must do so by following the Residency Reclassification Questionnaire procedure and submit all required documents before the beginning of the quarter in which you plan to enroll. If that deadline is not met, the status change won't take effect until the next term for which you enroll.

If there is any question about residency, the burden is on you to clearly prove both physical presence in California and intent to establish California residence.

Certain nonresidents may qualify for a non-resident tuition exemption. Eligibility criteria are noted below. Students who believe they are eligible for an exemption based on any one of the following criteria should consult the Office of Admissions and Records when they apply:

At the time of the application (or reapplication) for admission, a student’s residency status will be determined based on the answers provided on the application for admission.

Students classified as nonresidents who feel they should be reclassified can do so by filling out the IVC California Residency Reclassification Questionnaire. Priority Groups

Students who are verified or authorized as members of the following groups. Active Duty Military and Veterans, Foster Youth and Former Foster Youth, DSPS, EOPS, Athletes, Honors, ASIVC.

Freshman Advantage

Students who are first-time college students. The have never attended college since attending high school, regardless of how long ago they attended high school. Students must have completed all the matriculation steps (orientation, math and English assessment, and advisement) by the designated deadline to qualify.
