AB86 Planning Grant Outcomes

California has the opportunity to rethink and redesign an educational system to establish linkages for students across the California Department of Education and the California Community College Chancellor’s Office adult education systems that provide adults with the academic and career skills needed to enhance student success. To that end, the Legislature and Governor have put in place two unprecedented indicators of California’s commitment to improve adult education.

Regional Consortium

The Consortia’s Guiding Principles:

  • Establish and maintain effective communication among stakeholders (educational entities and students), ensure instructional integrity and seamless transitions between educational partners and support student success in achieving their individual goals.
  • Provide opportunities for students to select their pathway and implement a framework that emphasizes student-centered learning.
  • Establish activities that have practical, real world applications.
