Jobs and the Economy

Among the activities of the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office, the programs of the Division of Workforce and Economic Development bridge the skills and jobs mismatch and prepare California’s workforce for 21st century careers. The Division serves as administrator for several streams of state and federal funds, including Governor’s Career Technical Education Pathways Initiative (SB70), Carl D.

The strategy of California’s energy plan is to train a workforce with job skills and education that will put them into energy efficient careers and jobs. The economy of California is becoming even more dependent in clean energy technology. It is estimated that job growth will be found in this growing and sustainable industry.
