  • Assist Sector Navigator to facilitate industry commitment to statewide strategic initiative that align shared business and workforce objectives; provide technical assistance to the utilities to implement the statewide initiative in their individual service territories.
  • Convene small teams of regional utilities, utility suppliers and labor organizations to identify immediate educational and training gaps in the incumbent workforce, with special focus on grid automation.

Strawman Plan

  • Develop a strawman plan to (i.e. - curriculum & training) to address the identified gaps. (Develop faculty consortia with OC thru email, phone, or call confer).
  • Reconvene industry stakeholder teams to review the "strawman" plan, revise and refine.
  • Revise the "strawman" plan addressing the issues identified by industry partners.
  • Reconvene academic stakeholder teams to review the industry consensus "strawman" plan, revise and refine

K-12

  • Gather, document and categorize suggestions provided by all partners of "need to know things" about the electric utility system for K-12 students.
  • Re-convene experts on K-12 education to review the target subjects for building educational tools and solicit recommendations for age/grade level categorization of material.
  • Review and distill results from 3.9, convene digital media experts to develop a "go forward" plan to produce documentaries and computer learning games for K-12 students.
  • Initial development of documentaries and computer learning games for K-12 students by digital media experts.
  • Gather suggestions from industry & academic partners of "need to know things" about the electric utility system for K-12 students.
