Information Security Policy Review (ISPR) procedures provide formal methods for which Information Security Regulations, Standards, and Best Practices are conducted.
Section 508 is a federal law that was adopted in California as California Government Code 11135 and further adopted by the California Community College System on January 1, 2003. The law mandates that all information and communication technology developed, procured, maintained, or used by state-supported, operated, funded, or administered programs and activities be accessible to people with disabilities. The law also establishes standards for what is considered accessible for Information and Communications Technology (ICT) (CCC Accessibility Administrator FAQs).
Furthermore, California state-funded agencies are responsible for ensuring that web content, non-web documents, and software comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0, Level A, and Level AA (CCC Accessibility Policy, Standards, & FAQs).
As a result, the individual or business unit endorsing the ICT (Project Owner) shall attain a completed Voluntary Product Accessibly Template (VPAT) from all vendors being evaluated before ICT is purchased, procured, or otherwise adopted. VPATs must be reviewed and submitted along with their corresponding Jaggaer Requisition before the purchase is approved and a Jaggaer Purchase Order is created.
This standard is divided into the following sections below:
Several federal and state mandates regulate the adoption, purchasing, and procurement of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) — the capture, storage, retrieval, processing, display, representation, presentation, organization, management, security, transfer, and interchange of data and information (ISO/IEC 2382).
Since Irvine Valley College relies upon a variety of internal and external applications, hardware, and services to support core business functions, the College must perform its due diligence to protect the rights and privacy of its community and personnel as well as the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of its information systems.
As a result, the individual or business unit endorsing the ICT (Project Owner) shall follow the procedure outlined below.

Irvine Valley College strives to create an inclusive environment that offers accommodation services for students as well as faculty, staff, and visitors to the college. We seek to meet the accessibility goals of state and federal laws and regulatory agencies including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and California Code of Regulations Title 5: Nondiscrimination. Board Policy 3425 requires full compliance with the requirements of the ADA Act. Consistent with that policy, disability accommodations will be provided as needed for program access, upon request. Furthermore, IVC implements the latest Chancellor's Office Alternate Media Guidelines and the addendum as added, where necessary.

Reporting Barriers
Website: The IVC website adheres to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0 Level AA). To monitor its progress with this effort, the IVC web and content team uses various compliance software and tools to assure the platform is accessible, while the design team uses standard accessibility tools and checkers, including those provided by Adobe Acrobat Pro and Microsoft Office, to assure that documents are accessible.
To report an accessibility barrier on our website, please email IVC's Office of Marketing and Creative Services.
Physical Barrier: To report a physical barrier on campus, please email IVC's Director of Facilities.
