IVC Now a Participant in the Amazon Career Choice Program

Irvine Valley College (IVC) is now a participant in the Amazon Career Choice program. Career Choice is an innovative initiative offered by Amazon to further the education and skill sets of their employees.

Through the Amazon Career Choice program, Amazon employees are eligible to receive support for tuition, textbooks, and associated fees for a range of options from foundational skills like English language to career pathways and college credit programs at IVC.

Four Irvine Valley College Students Participate in Undergraduate Research Experience

This summer, four Irvine Valley College (IVC) students participated in Project RAISE (Regional Alliance in STEM Education) as part of the Undergraduate Research Experience (URE) at California State University, Fullerton (CSUF). IVC was one of nine area community colleges to have students interested in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) conduct paid research at CSUF. This year’s cohort included 39 participants that received a $5,000 stipend for their research and participation.

IVC Hosts Orange County Philippine Independence Day Celebration

IVC hosted Orange County’s Philippine Independence Day Celebration on Saturday, June 17, commemorating the declaration of Philippine Independence from Spain in 1898. The event was organized by Filipino Influential Leaders and Mentors (FILAM), Filipino American Chamber of Commerce of Orange County (FACCOC), Filipino-American Lawyers of Orange County (FLOC), and IVC’s Equitable Learning Experience Valuing Achievement, Transfer and Empowering Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (ELEVATE AAPI).

Allyson Najera Named 2023 Hites Scholar

IVC student Allyson Najera is one of 15 Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) members selected as a 2023 Hites Scholar and will receive a $10,000 scholarship for baccalaureate studies.

The Hites Transfer Scholarship is awarded to PTK members who are preparing to transfer to a bachelor’s degree-granting college or university. Winners were selected from among 2,700 applicants nationwide for their outstanding academic achievement and rigor, leadership accomplishments, and engagement in college and community activities.
