Saina Salamati

A 2020 graduate of Irvine High School, Saina Salamati majored in Psychology at IVC and graduated in May. She is excited to attend the University of California, Los Angeles in Fall 2023.

Saina’s long-term goal is to attain her bachelor’s degree in psychological science, and a doctorate in clinical psychology. She hopes to become a licensed clinical therapist and provide therapy for young adults struggling with mood, anxiety, and personality disorders. She also wants to teach at a community college and publish her fiction writings.

Saina credits the sense of community she found at IVC for helping her achieve her goal of transferring. She says that due to COVID she missed out on many of the traditional high school activities and was grateful to have found opportunities to connect with other students at IVC.

“Missing out on so many things during my senior year of high school made it very difficult to have the motivation to involve myself," Saina explains. “If you involve yourself, it's easy to find a community and a group of people with similar interests and nurture your academic journey.”

During her time at IVC, Saina was involved in the Psi Beta National Honors Society and was appointed Chapter President during her second year.

“When I found Psi Beta and decided to push myself, I found so many amazing people that got me out of the situation I was in and made me want to be better and become the best version of myself, and I will always be thankful for that,” she explains.
