The IVC Keyboard Department is dedicated to providing a comprehensive program to students of all levels. Our commitment is to make high level piano education accessible to everyone who has a passion and curiosity for music at every level of ability. We have world-class teachers and a brand new state-of-the-art Music & Arts Center, qualifying IVC with the esteemed Steinway School designation.

Piano Majors: IVC has a robust music program with collaborations with local and national transfer colleges.

Private piano lessons (MUS 51) are available for piano majors only based on audition. This course provides one individual keyboard lesson per week with an instructor on the Applied Music faculty. Performances for a faculty jury will be required at the end of the semester. The course is designed for the music major whose performance ability is at a college level.

The Piano Performance and Ensemble course is designed for pianists to hone their performance and ensemble playing skills. Students will perform in a weekly master class with IVC piano professors and visiting master teachers.

Our recital and concert halls are ideal for Sophomore Recitals, audition videos, and performance opportunities. Our world class piano professors are experienced in preparing students with a strong foundation and college audition.
