Project-based learning is a dynamic instructional technique in which students actively explore real-world problems and challenges in order to acquire a deeper knowledge of the concept or components being studied. At IVC, all of our engineering and drafting courses contain comprehensive case studies which allow students to use the theoretical skills acquired in class to develop creative solutions to problems with physical constraints. The IVC Engineering and Drafting Department considers project-based learning to be a critical component of long term success, and our faculty members strive to develop our students’ hands-on skills in order to prepare them for the modern technical work environment.
