Courses must be updated every 5 years to align with State and UC/CSU requirements.
Awards must be updated to match existing Course Offerings
New Courses must involve Faculty, Chair and Dean. Please discuss at School Meetings prior to launching in Meta.
Chairs are required to approve after reviewing new courses for: Catalog and Schedule Description; Units and Lab hours; Maximum enrollment numbers; and the length and appropriateness of content.
Dean approval is not required, but consultation is strongly recommended.
New Awards must utilize the Letter of Intent (LOI) form posted on Curriculum website, which involves Dean and Chair. Chair sends complete LOI to Instructional Council and APTC for input. Delete Awards must also utilize the LOI form.
Launch in Meta
Courses must have "threaded" Objectives, Content, Assignments, Evaluations and Student Learning Outcomes.

Deans and Chairs are required to sign/approve awards in Meta.
Career Education awards must include Advisory Council minutes, Labor Market Info (LMI) and OCRC findings.
1+ Weeks
Courses and Awards will be reviewed with priority given to:
- Compliance
- Catalog alignment
- Date Submitted
Review Team confirms threading of content and recency of books.
Articulation Officer checks ADT, C-ID, G.E. Area alignment, course numbering, UC/CSU comparable courses and pre- and co-requisites.
Curriculum Specialist reviews unit/hour calculations and CB Codes (TOP, SAM, etc.).
SLO Chair reviews for presence of SLOs.
Online Education Committee (OEC) Chair reviews DE proposals in Meta for approval by OEC
4.5 Weeks
After Curriculum Review and approval by Curriculum Leadership, Course/Award has 1 reading (2 weeks), 2nd reading/approval and Academic Senate approval (2 weeks).
1-2 Months
After approved by Curriculum Committee and Academic Senate, Course/Award is placed on the next agenda for the Board of Trustees.
Days-Months
After approved by Board of Trustees, Course/Award is sent to the State Chancellor's Office.

- New ADTs and CE Awards
- Modifications to ADTs
Requires Only Review (days): -New and Mods to Credit Courses and Credit Awards
