Hey, I'm Henry Chen, and I'm interested serving on ASIVC. Since I'm going to need some of your votes, I'm gonna need to glaze myself. I've been in Boy Scouts since second grade Cub Scouts, helped serve on camp planning committees, and directed and planned my own service project for the Eagle Rank. And even though I haven't gotten the best grades in high school, my enthusiasm often makes up for my distractibility! (Might not be a positive)

I've always been involved with some form of community service, both as a way to do something useful and to meet new people. I see ASIVC both as an opportunity to serve in some capacity, and to have fun planning events with other students. Also, IVC is mostly a commuter school, so I haven't had a chance to meet any of you. ASIVC seems like a great opportunity for this. I hope to see all of you soon!

I love volunteering and giving back to my community in any way I can, and have many leadership positions both on and off campus. I’d be honored to be a part of ASIVC and can’t wait to have the opportunity to make IVC an even better place for all students!

CandidateCandidate Statement:
My goal is to make it easier for students to learn where to access information, get connected to the resources available on campus, and find their way around without feeling overwhelmed. After spending almost two years here on campus, I’ve come to realize that many of the challenges I faced were common struggles for others as well. Learning your way around takes time, but I want to help make it easier for students adjusting to IVC. Other issues like providing spaces for students to study on campus, accommodating long or irregular class schedules that make it difficult to attend on campus events, or get food, and building a stronger sense of community and connection on campus are also things I would love to explore further as part of ASIVC.

Candidate Bio:
I'm a bio major whose been attending IVC for around two years. I draw, sometimes paint, and write short stories in my free time. Sitting down, listening to music and sketching the photos I take while out on walks, is one of my favorite activities.

CandidateCandidate Statement:
I am running for a Senator position with ASIVC because I care about representing student voices and making a difference on our campus. I used to be a building strata committee member in Vancouver, Canada. I worked with others to solve problems and create positive changes to residents, which gave me a lot of experience. I’m friendly, easy to approach, and always ready to listen to others. I want to help make Irvine Valley College a better place for all students by supporting programs and events that bring our community together.

Candidate Bio:
I am a current student at IVC majoring in Computer Science. With prior experience as a strata committee member in Vancouver, I have worked on collaborative projects and addressed community concerns effectively. I am passionate about representing diverse voices and am committed to creating an inclusive environment that empowers every student at IVC.

CandidateCandidate Statement:
Hi Lasers! My name is Zuweyda Salah, a current ASIVC Senator hoping to continue representing IVC students for the duration of the 2025-2026 school year! I’m passionate about campus involvement through clubs, events, and programs, so I’m eager to help others find their community here too! As a candidate for ASIVC Senate, I’m committed to advocating for our student body and collaborating with others to make a positive impact on our school. My goal is to ensure every student’s voice is heard and valued as a student representative.

Candidate Bio:
As a first-year student, I’ve found a community on campus through clubs such as IVC Speech & Debate, PHRA, and as treasurer of the Arab Student Union. These experiences have been valuable, and I hope to encourage my peers to seek out their own communities. I also aim to transfer to a UC to pursue pre-dental studies.
