All candidates are highly encouraged to attend this meet and greet to share why they should be part of ASIVC. This is a great way to campaign!
ASIVC is hosting elections for nine Senator positions.
ASIVC SENATE is the primary voting body for ASIVC; represents student concerns to the Academic Senate; works in the development and implementation of major ASIVC-sponsored programs and events throughout the academic year.
All voting ASIVC officers are required to regularly attend weekly legislative meetings. Other commitments and requirements include participating in college and district shared governance meetings as well as ASIVC committee meetings as articulated in the ASIVC by-laws.

Candidate campaigning begins Monday, September 23 – Friday, October 4, 2024.
A student who is elected to serve as an officer in ASIVC shall meet any of the following requirements (in accordance with Section 76061 of the Education Code).
- The student shall be enrolled at IVC at the time of election, and throughout the student's term, with a minimum of five cumulative semester units (from either college in the SOCCCD), or the equivalent Cumulative quarter units.
- The student shall meet and maintain the minimum standards of scholarship prescribed for IVC students by the South Orange County Community College District.
- The student shall be enrolled in an adult education program offered by IVC pursuant to Article 9 (commencing with Section 84900) of Chapter 5 of Part 50, at the time of the election and throughout the student's term.
- The student is enrolled at IVC at the time of election, and throughout the student's term, and is a disabled student, as defined in subdivision (b) of Section 84850.
To be an eligible candidate, you must:
- Have and maintain a minimum G.P.A. of 2.5 in all college units completed at Irvine Valley College.
- Have paid the ASIVC Access fee each semester once elected.
- Must complete Student Leadership Training, unless alternative arrangements are made with ASIVC Advisor.
- Attend a Mandatory Candidate Orientation Meeting

Elections will be held ONLINE from Monday, September 30, at midnight, and ends Friday, October 4, 2024, at 11:59 pm. IVC students will receive a link to an online ballot through their IVC email account on file. Be sure to check your IVC email to vote!
