The criteria for applying to the program are:

  • Must be in good standing with the college and maintain a 2.7 grade point average
  • Must be a full-time student
  • Must make a one-year commitment
  • Must have completed 12 units at IVC

Candidates who are selected to participate will be expected to:

  • Successfully complete a 20-hour training program during the summer
  • Make a commitment to attend no less than six functions hosted and/or approved by the president, vice presidents, deans, program chairs, Outreach and Community Relations office, or Student Life office
  • Attend the Student Ambassador End-of-Year Celebration in May
  • Agree to wear selected attire to all college functions/events where student ambassadors have an identified role
  • Attend monthly Student Ambassador scheduled meetings
  • Contribute a minimum of two social media posts per semester
