Campus Sustainability Projects

  • Recycling Bins
In an ongoing effort to promote sustainability, new recycling and waste bins have been added to both the grounds and buildings for student, faculty and staff use.
  • Water Bottle Fill Stations
State-of-the-art filtered water fill stations have been added to A 400, BSTIC, SSC, PE 200 and B 300 in an effort to decrease the number of single use bottles used on campus.
  • Vehicle Charge Stations
In Lot 8 by BEES Garden, vehicle charge stations allow students, faculty and staff to charge their clean running electric vehicles.
  • Solar Panels
Solar panels on PE 200 have allowed our campus to make use of solar energy for many years.
  • Tesla Battery Farm
A new addition to our campus, the Tesla Battery Farm will help lower the campus' dependence on the electrical grid by shaving our energy usage at peak hours when brown outs and black outs are more likely to occur.
  • Reclaimed Water Systems
All turf and garden beds on campus are watered using reclaimed water. All toilets in A 400 and B 400 have been transitioned to reclaimed water, decreasing the college's use of potable water during ongoing draught conditions.
  • Turf Removal
Across campus, ongoing turf removal projects and transition to drought resistant plants and irrigation drip systems has helped make the campus grounds more ecologically friendly to Southern California's chaparral climate.
