Academic Accommodations
Students are entitled to request academic accommodations related to your pregnancy. Accommodation requests may be directed to IVC’s Title IX Office, Marco A. Caamal, Jr, or call 949-726-5840.
Pregnant Student Rights
Title IX prohibits educational institutions from discriminating against pregnant students (including childbirth, false pregnancy, or recovery from related conditions).
Pregnant students are protected under the District’s Administrative Regulation 3430 and Title IX.
The Title IX guidelines states:
34 C.F.R. Part 106
Recipients of federal funds “shall not apply any rule concerning a student's actual or potential parental, family, or marital status which treats students differently on the basis of sex…[and] shall not discriminate against any student, or exclude any student from its education program or activity, including any class or extracurricular activity, on the basis of such student's pregnancy, childbirth, false pregnancy, termination of pregnancy or recovery there from, unless the student requests voluntarily to participate in a separate portion of the program or activity of the recipient."

Lactation Room — A private space for breastfeeding or pumping is located in the A 300 Building, room A300
- The lactation room is open to students, faculty, and staff. For students, please visit the Library Circulation Desk and a staff member will assist you for access. No reservation or appointment needed.
