Current Puente Students
Appointments with a Puente Counselor
Appointments will be conducted by phone and/or virtually depending on the needs and desires of the student. Please note a computer or smart device will be needed for virtual appointments.
Student Interest List
The Puente Program is open to all students who meet the program requirements.
Space is limited to approximately 25 students per academic year. The program enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis. We will utilize waitlists for any additional interested students and provide referrals for any additional services available.

Puente is unique among college transfer programs by offering personal one-on-one mentoring by local professionals who graciously volunteer 15-18 hours during the academic year.

Dear Colleagues:
The end of the spring semester provides us a time for reflection and renewal. I am truly grateful for the many ways our students, faculty, and staff rallied throughout this year. Central to our decision-making was always campus safety. Our district and IVC responded not once, but twice when the situation warranted due to variant surges. Together we found ways to implement new and evolving COVID-related strategies.
IVC’s Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
In Fall 2020, I hosted a virtual 3-hour session on “Developing A DEI Framework at IVC” where I shared the importance of creating an equity framework that aligns every program, initiative and activity to college-wide diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) goals. In my short time at IVC, I’ve come to appreciate and value the many initiatives and activities that were organically created.
