From March 8th-13th Irvine Valley College’s Speech and Debate Team traveled to the CCCFA State Championship Tournament in Woodland Hills, CA. The grueling tournament was attended by hundreds of students from nineteen community colleges across California. IVC Speech concluded the week victorious by winning the 1st Place Sweepstakes Award in limited entry! IVC Speech accepted their 1st Place award after receiving multiple medals in IPDA (individual) debate, NPDA (team) debate, extemporaneous speaking, and impromptu speaking.
IVC student Erwin Quiroz has been named the winner of the Real College California Logo Redesign contest. The Community College League of California’s Affordability, Food and Housing Access Taskforce will work to incorporate the logo into its upcoming publications, taskforce webpage, Basic Needs Summit webpage, emails and more. Edwin will also receive a $1,000 scholarship.
The South Asian Student Association (SASA) is dedicated to fostering a supportive community and promoting cultural awareness, education, and interaction among students of South Asian descent and the wider IVC community. We believe in embracing cultural diversity and equity and strive to create a welcoming environment for all members , regardless of race. SASA aims to provide opportunities for students to learn about, experience, and appreciate the rich cultural heritage of South Asia through engaging in cultural festivals and traditions.
The Vietnamese club is an organization that provides a safe and engaging environment for all members to share the experience of learning more about the Vietnamese culture. Food, tradition, and the history of Vietnam will be celebrated and taught through a series of meetings and events throughout the year.

Our mission is to promote fitness among Irvine Valley College students and bring together a community of students who enjoy exercise. We aim to create a supportive and inclusive environment where students can come together to share their love for fitness and wellness. We want to provide resources and opportunities for students to engage in physical activity, whether it be through organized fitness classes, group exercise sessions, or simple encouragement to get up and move.
The Young Entrepreneur's Society is devoted to promoting student entrepreneurship and the philosophy of pursuing excellence in education and the business world. The club's scope includes helping students network with like-minded individuals, offering resources to support young entrepreneurs, promoting IVC student businesses in our community, working with other clubs, bringing entrepreneurs from the local community, self-improvement, and learning about and enjoying the journey of entrepreneurship.
Diversified Doctors of Irvine Valley College engages individuals to promote equitable access to medicine through outreach, research, and innovation. As future physicians and leaders in healthcare, we hold ourselves and others to a high moral code of integrity and care through outreach events, research initiatives, and healthcare innovation. Join us in shaping a brighter, more equitable future in medicine, where each individual's journey is embraced with open arms and empowered by the spirit of medicine.
The IVC Model United Nations (MUN) team won the Best Delegate award at the Inland Empire Model United Nations Conference at Riverside City College. The team of five students represented Ghana and China on Security Council, and Denmark, Saudi Arabia, and Uganda on the Commission on Population and Development. The conference was attended by 100 students from two-year and four-year colleges in Southern California. Delegates debated strategies to mitigate sexual violence in conflict as well as enhance food security in a post-pandemic world.
The month of April has been designated as Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Accessibility (DEIA) Awareness Month by both the California Community College Chancellor’s Office and the South Orange County Community College District (SOCCD) Board of Trustees.
