Designing a Fulfilling Future: IVC Graphic Design Student Alexis Howard

When Alexis Howard first entered the Irvine Valley College graphic design program last year,  she had no idea that within just a few months she’d be working with her first professional client: the sportswear company Slunks, which recruited her for a major design launch.

For Alexis, it was a hard-fought victory on an educational journey marked by self-discovery and  transformation, perseverance, a passion for creativity, and a commitment to personal growth.

The First Generation Student Club’s mission is to foster a supportive community of first generation college students. The First Generation Student Club has created a vast network of connections with faculty and pooled the necessary resources to support and guide every first generation student throughout their college journey.

Students Justice for Palestine Club

Purpose and Services

To cultivate an inclusive, informed, and proactive student community committed to advocating for the rights and dignity of the Palestinian people through dialogue, education, and peaceful action.

The Students Justice for Palestine (SJP) Club is dedicated to:

Elevate understanding and awareness about the historical and contemporary issues surrounding Palestine and its people, ensuring the presentation of diverse perspectives that are often underrepresented or misrepresented.

Astronomy and Physics Club

Purpose and Services

The Astronomy and Physics club at Irvine Valley College aims to educate students of IVC about the basics of physics and astronomy through guest speakers, field trips, and space related events. Members will attend biweekly meetings that cover current events in space and learn about discoveries through a real-time and interactive experience provided by professors on campus and guests from institutions like NASA to enhance the human understanding of what lies beyond earth’s atmosphere and the potential of science in the future and now.

IVC Kinesiology Instructor Praised for Life-Saving Efforts at Football Game

IVC Kinesiology Instructor Logan Post, who is also an athletic trainer at Beckman High School, along with two of his students are being celebrated for their quick, life-saving actions at a recent varsity football game. When a coach collapsed on the sidelines at the game, Post sprang into action along with help from students Frederick Kweon and Owen Kelso.
