Students can apply as a continuing student after they have earned at least a 3.25 GPA in 12 or more units of transferable college coursework after graduating from high school.
High school students who have completed 12+ units of dual-enrollment coursework should still apply as a first-year applicant.
The Honors Program reviews applications on a rolling basis using a holistic review process. Students can submit applications year-round and there is no deadline to apply to the program; however, deadlines do exist for priority registration privileges, which enable Honors students to enroll on the second day of the registration period.

The IVC Honors Program is dedicated to helping students engage in meaningful, faculty-mentored research while at IVC. The Honors Program works to help students learn how to conduct scholarly research and present their work at local and regional undergraduate research conferences.

Irvine Valley College (IVC) has named Rick Miranda as Vice President for Instruction. He will begin in his new role on July 11 pending board ratification. Rick replaces Dr. Chris McDonald who accepted the position of Vice-Chancellor of Educational and Technology Services for the South Orange County Community College District in March.
