On November 10, the South Orange County Community College District will observe Veterans Day, a national holiday, recognizing veterans for their service and sacrifice. Although this designated day of remembrance is symbolic, it also serves as a reminder of the importance of finding ways to demonstrate our year-round commitment to our student veterans and to honor and recognize our employee veterans.
IVC Speech Wins 27 Awards Across Four Forensics Tournaments
IVC Speech kicked off their competitive season by earning 27 awards across four forensics tournaments.
The team made its return to competition at the PSCFA Warm Up Invitational on September 30th and October 1st. Seventeen colleges and universities participated in the two-day event hosted by El Camino College.
Advaith Thampi Irvine Valley College Alum Named a 2023 California Community Colleges Distinguished Alumni
On October 27, the Community College League of California (League) announced its selection of three outstanding California Community Colleges (CCC) alumni for the Distinguished Alumni Award during its Annual Convention. Among the recipients, Advaith Thampi, a graduate of Irvine Valley College (IVC), has been nominated by his peers and mentors to receive this prestigious recognition.
The Aspen Institute Names Irvine Valley College One of 150 U.S. Community Colleges Eligible for the 2025 Aspen Prize
The Aspen Institute College Excellence Program has named Irvine Valley College as one of the 150 institutions eligible to compete for the $1 million Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence, the nation's signature recognition of high achievement and performance among two-year colleges.

Designing a Fulfilling Future: IVC Graphic Design Student Alexis Howard
When Alexis Howard first entered the Irvine Valley College graphic design program last year, she had no idea that within just a few months she’d be working with her first professional client: the sportswear company Slunks, which recruited her for a major design launch.
For Alexis, it was a hard-fought victory on an educational journey marked by self-discovery and transformation, perseverance, a passion for creativity, and a commitment to personal growth.
