Whether you are graduating, continuing, or new in your college experience, I want to take this opportunity to congratulate you on your achievements and adaptability during the 2021-2022 academic year.
Dear Colleagues:
The end of the spring semester provides us a time for reflection and renewal. I am truly grateful for the many ways our students, faculty, and staff rallied throughout this year. Central to our decision-making was always campus safety. Our district and IVC responded not once, but twice when the situation warranted due to variant surges. Together we found ways to implement new and evolving COVID-related strategies.
In Fall 2020, I hosted a virtual 3-hour session on “Developing A DEI Framework at IVC” where I shared the importance of creating an equity framework that aligns every program, initiative and activity to college-wide diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) goals. In my short time at IVC, I’ve come to appreciate and value the many initiatives and activities that were organically created. However, creating a framework or umbrella for all of these efforts is needed to:

Dr. John C. Hernandez was appointed 7th President of Irvine Valley College (IVC) in July 2020.
Since becoming the seventh president of Irvine Valley College (IVC) in Fall 2020, it has been my distinct honor to lead this remarkable institution through a time of transformation, resilience, and growth. On behalf of our faculty, staff, and students, I’m pleased to welcome you to IVC.
