Students who complete an area of study within the School of Integrated Design, Engineering and Automation (IDEA) will acquire the skills to work in the electrical, electronics, automation, engineering, computer-aided design, or model making fields.
Additionally, students may choose to pursue our innovative transfer pathway and earn a university bachelor’s degree in engineering. Areas of study include Engineering, Electrical Technology, Electronic Technology, Drafting & Computer-Aided Design, and Design, Model Making, & Rapid Prototyping.

UCI-IVC Engineering Academy
The UCI-IVC Engineering Academy is a partnership between Irvine Valley College and the UCI Samueli School of Engineering. High school senior students who apply to the UCI Samueli School of Engineering and receive an invitation letter from Irvine Valley College are eligible to be in the UCI-IVC Engineering Academy.
Partnership Opportunities at the Advanced Technology & Education Park (ATEP)
The District, in concert with Saddleback College and Irvine Valley College, is developing an education park at the former Marine Corps Air Station in Tustin, CA, called the Advanced Technology and Education Park (ATEP). The development area consists of 61.4 acres within the 1,606 acre Tustin Legacy. The Tustin Legacy includes city and regional parks, housing, public schools, commercial businesses, major shopping complexes, and a research park.
