Formerly the Full-Time Student Success Grant and the California Community College Completion Grant, the Student Success Completion Grant (SSCG) was created by California Senate Bill 85. The 2017 Budget Act Education Trailer Bill was signed by the Governor on June 27, 2017 and includes language initiating a new grant program for California Community College students as of Fall 2018. The program provides funding to the California Community College Chancellor's Office (CCCCO) to provide for the supplemental grant for the current academic year (anticipate ongoing funding) to Cal Grant B or C recipients who have already received a full-time Cal Grant B or C award payment. All 114 California community colleges will be participating.
Eligibility requirements for the grant*
- Recipient of Cal Grant B or C
- Must be a full-time student (enrolled in 12 or more units for a primary term)
*Funding for SSCG is limited, particularly during the spring semester. We prioritize awarding this grant to students with the highest unmet need based on their financial aid file. Being awarded SSCG in the fall semester does not guarantee you will be awarded in the spring. You will automatically be considered for this grant if you have received the Cal Grant B or C for the academic year.
This program is being run through the California Community College Chancellor's Office and funded through the California Budget Act, 2017.
