The Emeritus Institute is part of Irvine Valley College's Extended Education Department. The Emeritus Institute reinforces the importance of lifelong learning by providing intellectual activity, critical thinking and creative expression for older adults. Courses are developed to stimulate participants' intellectual and personal growth and to benefit their daily lives - personally, socially, culturally, economically and environmentally. While these courses meet the college's academic standards, they are not degree-applicable.
