Sara Kabbara Takes the Next Step Toward a Career in Pharmacy

Sara Kabbara speaking at IVC's Honors Ceremony

Sara Kabbara is a chemistry major with an emphasis in natural sciences whose academic path at Irvine Valley College (IVC) has been shaped by a deep curiosity about how molecular interactions can drive meaningful change in human health and the world around us. Before enrolling at IVC, Sara attended Northwood High School. She will transfer to Western University of Health Sciences’ College of Pharmacy to pursue a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree. There, she plans to continue exploring the many pathways within pharmacy that integrate science, patient care, and meaningful impact.

At IVC, Sara has distinguished herself as a consistent Dean’s List scholar while actively engaging in research and leadership. She presented her work at the Honors Transfer Council of California’s Building Bridges Research Conference at UC Riverside, where her project, “Beyond the Diagnosis: Analyzing the Skyrocketing Costs of American Cancer Care and Their Impact on Patients,” earned third place in the Social Science Poster category. She was also awarded the WesternU Dean’s Merit Scholarship.

Sara’s commitment to service and leadership is reflected in her work as the 2025–2026 IVC Honors Program Student Council president. In that role, she helped foster engagement and connection within the Honors community. Her academic and professional experience also includes four years as a certified pharmacy technician and immunizer at CVS Pharmacy, as well as participation in UC Irvine’s Transportation Research Immersion Program as a student researcher.

Reflecting on her experience at IVC, Sara shared, “Don’t be afraid to take advantage of the many opportunities and resources at IVC because even if you’re not sure where it will lead, they often will open doors you don’t expect. Most importantly, invest your time in what genuinely excites you, because that passion is what will shape your path and make your experience meaningful.”
