Irvine Valley College is proud to announce its prestigious recognition as an All-Steinway School, marking a significant achievement in music education.
The All-Steinway School distinction signifies IVC's unwavering dedication to musical excellence, exclusively utilizing Steinway & Sons pianos in teaching, practice, and performance spaces. This milestone reinforces IVC's position as a premier institution for music education in Southern California.
This year, IVC made a strategic investment of $1.2 million to acquire 19 Steinway pianos, including 12 Steinway & Sons grand pianos and seven uprights. This significant commitment allows students to refine their musical talents on world-class instruments and aligns seamlessly with IVC's dedication to artistic growth.
These new pianos can be found in the recently completed 62,471 gross square ft. Arts Village, which houses the School of the Arts. The Arts Village complex, separated into three main structures, is home to Music/Dance, Visual Arts, and a Fine Arts/Gallery southwest of IVC's Performing Arts Center and adjacent to the new Parking Lot 6.
IVC President Dr. John Hernandez said, "IVC's All-Steinway School designation showcases our commitment to fostering a vibrant musical community and cultivating the next generation of talented musicians. By immersing students in an environment of exceptional instruments, the college provides a transformative space where creativity and artistry can thrive."
IVC has a robust Music Department with courses available for students seeking to transfer, careers in the music industry, or certificates of achievement and proficiency.
