I'm a First-Gen college graduate and a proud community college transfer student. I'm also fluent in Spanish. I have my B.A. in Communications/Journalism with a minor in English and my M.S. in Educational Counseling. I tutor history, philosophy, Spanish, psychology, political science, sociology, ESL, gender studies, and English. I love being an educator and the positive difference students feel after I tutor them makes it all worth it.
Chu-Giang
I hold a B.S. in Economics, a B.A. in Mathematics, and a M.S. in Applied Mathematics. I am fluent in Vietnamese. Currently, I tutor students in all levels of mathematics and strive to help students achieve their academic goals. I enjoy tutoring at the Student Success Center because it brings me joy to assist students in a subject that I once enjoyed learning myself. In my free time, I enjoy learning how to play the piano.
Farideh
I am fluent in English, Persian, Serbo-Croatian and Arabic. I have a Doctor of Medicine from University of Belgrade, Serbia, a MS in Pharmaceutical Science from Chapman University and a PhD in Pharmaceutical Science from Chapman University. I tutor Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology and Biology. I find it very rewarding to tutor IVC students.
Luke
I started my college journey here at IVC, after which I transferred to UC San Diego to earn my B.S. in Molecular and Cell Biology. I also have an M.S. in Biological Sciences from UC Irvine. I mainly tutor various biology courses, basic chemistry, and Spanish. Explaining difficult, abstract concepts is the most fun part of my job, and I am so glad to be able to help students understand more from their science courses.
Marley
When not playing guitar, I teach in a variety of departments at IVC, Saddleback College, and CSU Fullerton. With undergraduate and graduate degrees in American Studies and a PhD in Cultural Studies, my scholarly interests tend to gravitate around collective identity, music, and media technologies. Here at the Student Success Center, I've thoroughly enjoyed tutoring students through conversation, writing, and ESL, and am very likely able to assist you with a number of other subjects within the humanities or liberal arts more broadly.

I earned an MFA in Creative Writing, and in 2015 I started tutoring at the Student Success Center, where I’ve guided students through a variety of writing challenges. I have full-time experience teaching college-level English and bring a wealth of experience to every session. Beyond academic writing, I've won awards for my fiction, and in my free time I organize book festivals.
