The School of Physical Sciences offers courses and programs in various branches of the physical sciences, including astronomy and physics, chemistry, geology and oceanography.

The Mathematics Department and Computer Sciences Department at Irvine Valley College offers comprehensive curriculums to meet the varied needs of students pursuing their academic and vocational goals.

The School of Life Sciences and Technologies at Irvine Valley College offers a wide range of courses in the biological sciences as well as selected courses in environmental studies. The introductory courses focus on theories and concepts in five primary areas: cellular and molecular biology, genetics, evolution, ecology, and whole organism biology.

The School of Languages and Learning Resources comprises English as a Second Language (ESL) and Adult ESL, Learning Centers, and five world languages: ASL (Sign), Chinese, French, Japanese, and Spanish.

The School of Kinesiology, Health and Athletics offers courses and programs in Health, Intercollegiate Athletics, Kinesiology, Life Fitness Center, Nutrition, Public Health, and is home ot the Strength Training Center.

The School of IDEA is a catalyst for innovative career education opportunities with program offerings that include design model making and rapid prototyping, drafting and engineering technology, electrical technology, and electronic technology.

The School of Humanities offers programs and courses in English, Ethnic Studies, Film and Media Studies, Gender Studies, History, Humanities, Journalism, Philosophy, Religious Studies.

The School of Guidance and Counseling provides counseling and Women's Studies courses as well as comprehensive counseling services. Both courses and services exist to help students with their academics career and personal concerns, thus serving the holistic needs of IVC students.

The School of Business Sciences offers a variety of programs and curriculum in Accounting, Business Management, Computer Information Management, Entrepreneurship, Paralegal Studies and Real Estate.​
