Adapted Kinesiology Program

Helping student achieve their individual fitness goals are the highest priority for the IVC Adapted Kinesiology Fitness Program. As part of the college's longstanding commitment to serve the entire community and embrace our tradition of rich diversity, Adapted Kinesiology is a key component in the programs of the School of Kinesiology, Health and Athletics and our colleagues in Disability Support Programs for Students (DSPS). Classes have been designed for those with temporary or chronic conditions who cannot attain their fitness goals in conventional ways.

Health & Nutrition Program

The Health and Nutrition program continues to be responsive to dynamic changes in a global learning environment. Primary in these course offerings are classes that address the fundamental challenge of balancing personal health with the personal challenges including academia, careers, social tensions and stress in a world of continuous environmental, medical and nutritional change.

Writing Program

The IVC Writing Program focuses the conventions and expectations of college-level reading and writing as they reflect the essential skills of critical thinking, and the careful reading, analysis and interpretation of texts.

Creative Writing

IVC’s Creative Writing program offers classes, degrees, and certificates for students and community members who want to learn and improve upon their storytelling skills and hone their poetic craft. Offering courses in short and long-form fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, and screenwriting, our online and in-person courses are for all skill levels and are conducted in a supportive, writing community-focused environment.
