Learning and Earning
Work Experience Education (WEE) formerly, Cooperative Work Experience (CWE), is an academic program offering students the opportunity to earn college credits while learning on-the-job, whether paid or unpaid. WEE is a student-centered, educational value-added academic course designed with specific, measurable learning objectives pre-determined by student, employer, and the WEE faculty.
The Emeritus Institute is always growing and expanding. Popular classes include watercolor, jewelry making, aquatic fitness, physical fitness, line dance, pilates, tap dance, dyna-band, yoga, qi gong, tai chi, stretch and flexibility, strength and balance and chair exercises.
Increased mental and physical health, creative expression, illness prevention, community pride, social interaction and personal satisfaction are some of the specific rewards of taking Emeritus classes.
Emeritus courses do not provide transferable credit for higher degrees.
Our outstanding faculty are carefully chosen from the public and private sectors for their knowledge, experience and teaching ability. They recognize the extensive prior experience of participants and attempt to build on those experiences.
They are knowledgeable about the needs and interests of older adults and conduct their classes accordingly.
