Career Development Process

The IVC Career Center is the gateway to your career planning process. Our goal is to help you understand where you are in the career development process so that we can assist you with services and resources that will benefit you.

The following stages represent a model of the career development process in which our counselors work. Understanding that this process is an ongoing and lifelong is stressed and that a person may weave in and out of these stages at various points in their life.

Finally, a convenient website that helps you connect majors with careers. For each major that interests you, choose "Information" to find an outline of common career areas, typical employers, and strategies designed to maximize career opportunities. Choose "Links" to find a list of websites that provide information about listed majors and related careers.

Employer Services

Handshake is Irvine Valley College's Job Posting Site. This site is where full-time, part-time, and internship opportunities will be posted by local employers. Students and Alumni can post résumés, create online portfolios, and look for jobs. If you have questions about the College Central Network, please email or call the Career Center at (949) 451-5431.

How to Report

The college strongly supports and encourages prompt reporting of sex discrimination, including sexual harassment, sexual assault, dating/domestic violence, and stalking. The Title IX Office is a non-confidential resource who can provide information about an individual’s rights, reporting options, on-campus (walk-in to Student Services Center SSC 260 C) and off-campus resources, and supportive measures to resolve reports or complaints involving sex discrimination.

Title IX Policies & Procedures

Irvine Valley College, in accordance with applicable federal and state laws and District policy, prohibits sexual harassment and sexual violence. The Title IX Office responds to, investigates, and/or seeks resolution to allegations of discrimination and sexual harassment. The Title IX Office also serves as a resource to students on issues of sexual harassment, such as providing supportive measures and/or training. Below are the District’s Board Policies and Administrative Regulations in compliance with Title IX.

Your Role in Preventing Sexual Assault

The only person responsible for committing sexual assault is a perpetrator, but all of us have the ability to look out for each other’s safety. Whether it’s giving someone a safe ride home from a party or directly confronting a person who is engaging in threatening behavior, anyone can help prevent sexual violence.
