IVC Achieves Record-Breaking Enrollment of 16,230 Students

Irvine Valley College (IVC) has once again set a historic milestone in its four decades of serving Irvine and the surrounding community. As of September 8, IVC’s official fall census enrollment headcount has reached 16,230 students, the largest number since the college’s founding in 1985.

Piano Performance Certificate

The Certificate of Achievement (CoA) in Piano Performance provides a structured curriculum for students aiming to enhance their piano performance skills and musical knowledge. This program is ideal for those pursuing careers in music, preparing for further studies, or seeking personal enrichment. The program combines applied piano instruction, performance opportunities, and a choice of academic courses to support a well-rounded musical education.

Piano Pedagogy Certificate

The Certificate of Proficiency (CoP) in Piano Pedagogy prepares music teachers for future employment in local music schools and as an independent private teacher. This certificate examines a variety of pedagogy methods and music conservatory traditions for teaching beginner, intermediate, and advanced piano students. This certificate covers how to teach group piano courses, master classes, and explores the business side of running a piano studio.

Jenny Huynh is proof positive that one can leverage core skills to segue into a dream job.  

Now a global sustainability manager at apparel companies and sister brands Alo Yoga and Bella + Canvas, she embarked on a career in corporate sustainability after several years in the fast-paced field of public accounting and financial auditing.  

Her transition to a career dedicated to sustainable stewardship in the apparel industry was a gradual one. “A career doesn’t have to be linear,” she says. “You can always pivot and find something different.”
