IVC's Summer Bridge program will help prepare you for college. Participate in cultural enrichment events and activities that promote student success during two half-day field trips on Fridays. You will complete two UC– and CSU–transferable courses: Communication 1: Communication Fundamentals (3 units) and Counseling 10: Intro to College Study Skills (3 units).
What is MAP?
My Academic Plan, also know as MAP, is IVC’s online academic planning tool, enabling you to make the most of your time at IVC by helping you develop a roadmap to your academic goal. MAP is available through MySite (Legacy or Banner). Students are able to create MAPs and have them reviewed and approved by a counselor to ensure accuracy and success.
What is an Approved MAP?
The Re-Entry Center at Irvine Valley College is dedicated to helping students 25 years and older succeed in college. Whether you are returning to school after 3 years or 30 years, the Re-Entry Center is here to provide a supportive environment for you! We offer additional workshops, resources and networking opportunities specifically for nontraditional students.
Based on your specific situation, IVC has an option for you to obtain an approved MAP. Refer to the following chart for the option that is best for you. If you have any questions about which option is best for you, please stop by the Counseling Center in SC 210 or call us at 949-451-5319.
*Special note: Honors, Veterans, International, Student Athletes and EOPS students MUST see their assigned counselor for an approved Comprehensive MAP.
The Irvine Valley College Counseling Center provides counseling services to help students with a variety of academic, career, and personal concerns. The counseling faculty assists students in clarifying their needs, making decisions, setting goals and dealing effectively with personal obstacles. The relationship between the student and counselor is confidential.
