Irvine Valley College hosted the Women Veteran Networking Forum on March 13 at the Performing Arts Center, bringing together women veterans for a day of connection, reflection, and empowerment. Centered on the theme “Reclaim Your Identity: From Service to Self.” The program included a keynote by Dr. Mary Ann Villarreal, interim president of CSU Dominguez Hills and an Air Force veteran, who highlighted the power of education, mentorship, and service.
Breakout sessions such as “Unmuted: The Intersectional Power of Women Veterans,” “Who Am I Now? Rediscovering Identity After Major Life Changes,” and “Her Many Hats: Exploring Roles and Identity,” offered participants space to reflect on their experiences and build a renewed sense of purpose.
Hosted by IVC’s Veterans Services Center and Saddleback College’s Veterans Education and Transition Services in collaboration with regional partners, the event highlighted the strength, resilience, and leadership of women veterans while fostering community and support. Attendees left with new insights, connections, and a reaffirmed sense of identity beyond military service. View Photos from Women Veteran Networking Forum »
