Irvine Valley College (IVC) hosted a meal distribution event on November 22 in the Student Services Center Quad. Close to 500 meals were provided to students just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday. Each student received a holiday meal pack, important resources on Financial Aid and CalFresh, student hygiene packs, and a range of information on student support services.
IVC has hosted several meal distributions since the start of the pandemic to provide meal support to students, address non-academic barriers, and provide a safe, welcoming environment for students as they navigate a plethora of challenges associated with the pandemic, including being alone. The IVC Cares Meal Distributions have been integral to cultivating community during an unprecedented time and have brought together the college community in service to our student body. Over 40 faculty, staff, and administrators volunteered to make this event a success.
