Congratulations to Director of Technology Services Nick Wilkening for being named IVC’s 2022 Manager of the Year! Nick, who recently returned from deployment with the US Air Force Reserve, was instrumental in assisting the college with technology needs during the COVID pandemic.
Nick started at IVC exactly one month prior to the campus closure in March 2020. During that time, Nick was instrumental in assisting the college with the transition to remote work and instruction, which included hotspot and laptop distribution, classroom conversions, and setting up COVID monitoring systems. In his leadership of the Technology Services team, Nick played a vital role in meeting the needs of the campus.
Nick came to IVC from North Orange County Community College District (NOCCCD) where he served as Director of IT, Infrastructure and Operations. Nick’s background includes extensive experience in information security, large-scale technology project management, IT Help Desk/user support, coupled with an MBA with an emphasis on finance. Nick served in the United States Air Force on active duty from 2003 through 2007 as a Senior Systems Controller in the Systems Center. He completed two deployments in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom, and continues to serve in the Air Force Reserve.
