RP Group Award

A team from IVC’s Office of Research, Career Center, and Adult Re-Entry Program won the 2023 RP Group Outstanding Project of the Year award for a project that incentivized students who stopped attending IVC without attaining a degree or certificate, to return to the college to complete their educational goal. The RP Group recognizes colleagues and organizations that have made extraordinary contributions to student and institutional success through community college research, planning, and institutional effectiveness efforts.

The IVC team who won the award include Senior Research and Planning Analyst Vinh Nguyen; Director for Research, Planning, and Accreditation Loris Fagioli; Research and Planning Analyst Kevin Hsu; and Career Center and Adult Re-Entry Program Coordinator/Counselor Amanda Romero. The project, “Crossing the Finish Line: On the Power of Information and Monetary Incentives to Motivate Action” targeted students who had stopped out at IVC and offered them a monetary incentive to return to the college to complete their degree or certificate.

The team was formerly recognized at the RP Group conference on April 12.
